ACV versus RCV

ACV- Actual Cash Value

RCV= Replacement Cost Value

ACV is a depreciated value. This can be used on your mobile home, car or roof. Also, some companies use it on your personal property. The best way to think of ACV is a car, you buy it, drive it off the lot and now it has lost its value, every year it does the same until it becomes a classic. Roofs, clothes and mobile home do not become classics but the principle is the same.

RCV is at today's market value. So if you need to to rebuild your home, you want that at RCV. Your agent will talk you through several questions to gather the value of your home, just please do not get this confused with market value, which is the buy/sale value.

Please let me know if you still have questions.
